The highlight of the special show was the big SpaceTransfer08 special event on Wednesday 23rd April 2008. An inflatable astronaut over 10 meters high at the front of the conference building NORD/LB was an unmissable eyecatcher for the visitors to the fair and a popular subject for photos. Prime Minister Christian Wulff and Astronaut Dr. Ulf Merbold opened that event.
On Thursday 24th April 2008 EADS- Astrium representative Dr. Eberhard Schulz-Lüppertz arrived at the SpaceTransfer stand and gave a lecture on new Spin In perspectives. On Friday, the last day of the event, more important visitors arrived at the SpaceTransfer stand. Andreas Storm, the German Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Education and Research visited SpaceTransfer as one of only 3 stands. In the afternoon the leader ofthe parliamentary CDU party in Hessen Minister of State a. D. Christean Wagner also visited SpaceTransfer and was pleased that the concept for it came from Hessen.
