Welcome to the site of "SpaceTransfer08"!

SpaceTransfer took place for the first time from 21 to 25 April 2008 in Hanover, the biggest special show on the subject of Technology Transfer to do with space travel. The special show was set in the biggest industrial exhibition in the world, the Hannover Fair with more than 250.000 visitors.

12 ESA-partner-companies from all over Europe took advantage on it and presented their newest developments and inventions to a broad public. The press conference on 21st April 2008 opened with a world premiere straight away. The International Space Station ISS sent the new global time signal GTS for the first time in public as an initiative of FORTIS. The elaborate apparatus assembled beforehand in Hall 2 to receive the signal functioned perfectly and at exactly 13:54 hours the ISS sent the first time signal and the message “HELLO ESA”. The journalists, particularly the photographic press, recorded this event with great interest. After that D1- astronaut Prof. Dr. Ernst Messerschmid presented his new book "Vom All in den Alltag" (From Space to Everyday Life).

All the participants were able to sum it up very positively. Space Technology Transfer has arrived at Hannover Fair. It was also possible to make the brand of SpaceTransfer known far and wide and achieve a high public awareness. Media coverage was a turn out too: the term “SpaceTransfer08” now appears 2,240 times on Google already.
